Remodeling a home from a distance isn't easy, so finding a contractor who made the process smooth and stress-free was truly a blessing. There are always unexpected challenges on any project, and Highmark Builders handled each one with professionalism, grace, and efficiency. Chris addressed every issue in a timely manner, giving us confidence through the entire process. Even more importantly, we've come to consider Chris a friend and would recommend him without hesitation.

Bales Project

There are very few contractors in Serene Lakes who consistently embody those qualities. One moment that has always stayed with me was watching Chris complete the finish work in our own home. He measured every piece of cabinet trim before making a single trip to the saw, returned with each piece perfectly cut, and installed them with precision. It was a simple detail, but it reflected the preparation, efficiency, and craftsmanship that define the way Highmark Builders approaches every project. That’s why I continue to confidently refer my clients to Chris and his team.

Chris and his team were responsive, organized, and communicated well throughout the project. Chris is a good listener who is respectful of his team and business partners. He handles stress and competing priorities incredibly well. From a design perspective, he understands the intent and gets the right people in place to execute it. I’ve already highly recommended Chris and Highmark Builders to other designers and potential clients.

Designer / Scanlon Design

This was a design-build project due to extensive damage incurred in a propane explosion. Highmark hired quality subcontractors and supervised them to ensure the work was completed properly and on schedule.

What stood out most was the accountability. If something wasn’t right, Chris took responsibility and made sure it was corrected. There was never an attempt to shift responsibility or make excuses.

The quality of the work, trustworthiness, and professionalism couldn’t have been better. We love our newly rebuilt home.

Hemlock Project

I’ve known Chris both as a finish carpenter and as a general contractor. Long before he started Highmark Builders, he earned a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship. After he went out on his own, I watched something even more important become his hallmark—his integrity. On more than one occasion, homeowners chose to pay Chris more than his original estimate because they recognized he had remained true to his word when a project required significantly more work than expected. Those moments reinforced why I continue referring my clients to Highmark Builders with complete confidence.
